Alphabetical order and the dictionary

Use letter-by-letter alphabetical order to sort words and search efficiently in a dictionary.

Duration: 25 minPrerequisites: homophones-son-sontValidation threshold: 80%

1. Objective

By the end, you will alphabetise several words and find a dictionary entry more quickly.

2. I discover

Order: bus, banque, billet. All begin with b: which letter must you compare next?

3. I understand

To put words in alphabetical order, compare the first letter. If it is the same, compare the second, then the third. This method helps you find words quickly in a dictionary.
