A sister site born from the same project

My name is Ethem. I first built Les Carnets de Léka so French speakers had a simple place to learn Albanian. Then Albanian relatives and friends kept telling me the same thing from the other side: they wanted a straightforward, free way to learn French too.

That is where this sister section came from. Léka is still the mascot and the mechanics are familiar, but the goal here is French. The English version is for English speakers, while the Albanian version is built for Albanian speakers. I want both to feel more like a useful notebook than a school textbook.

How I check my sources

For grammar and conjugation I use references such as Le Bon Usage by Grevisse and Bescherelle. For translation choices I compare bilingual references and CEFR-based teaching material. When a sentence looks technically correct but does not sound natural, I also check it with French speakers I know.

A language, a culture

French is not just a set of verb tables. A word can lead to a city, a song, a habit or a piece of history. That is why this part of the site also makes room for France itself, not only the language exercises.

☕ Buy me a coffee

The site will always stay free : a coffee is just a small way to say thanks, if you feel like it.
