Stage 2 · A1+ / A2
The near future
Form the French near future with present-tense aller plus an infinitive and use it for plans and upcoming actions.
1. Objective
By the end, you will form the near future with aller + infinitive and talk about a simple plan.
2. I discover
Compare: Je pars demain. / Je vais partir demain. In the second sentence, which verb is conjugated?
3. I understand
The near future uses present-tense aller + an infinitive: je vais partir, nous allons manger. Aller agrees with the subject; the infinitive does not change. It is often used for plans or actions expected soon.
Do not conjugate both verbs: say nous allons partir, not nous allons partons.

5. Independent practice
6. I write / I speak
Produce three new sentences that use the target feature precisely, then explain what you applied.
7. Check my learning
8. What I remember
Near future = present-tense aller + infinitive. Je vais sortir. Nous allons travailler. The infinitive stays unchanged.
9. Now I can…
- I can recognise the feature in a new example.
- I can reuse it in a meaningful sentence.
