🇫🇷 A bit of French culture
The futur simple is formed by adding endings (-ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont) to the verb's infinitive : endings that closely resemble the verb "avoir" in the present. For "-re" verbs, the final "e" is dropped before adding the ending: "prendre" → "je prendrai". Some verbs have an irregular stem in the future that must be memorized: "être" → "je serai", "avoir" → "j'aurai", "aller" → "j'irai", "faire" → "je ferai".
