🇫🇷 A bit of French culture
In French, the preposition "à" or "de" can never stay next to the articles "le" or "les" : they must merge: à + le = au, à + les = aux, de + le = du, de + les = des. With "la" and "l'", nothing changes: à la, à l', de la, de l'. This might seem like a small detail, but the error "à le" or "de les" is immediately noticeable to a native speaker.
