Spelling is your ally
Albanian is relatively phonetic: once you know the alphabet, written words usually give you a strong clue to pronunciation.
Do not ignore double letters
ll and rr are separate alphabet letters and can change how a word sounds. Treat digraphs as single units when reading.
Listen, copy, compare
Use short chunks rather than isolated sounds. Repeat a word, then a short phrase containing it. Rhythm and stress improve faster that way.
Quick reference
| q | soft palatal consonant |
| gj | soft voiced palatal consonant |
| rr | strong rolled r |
| xh | j-like sound |
| ë | central vowel |
