Personal pronouns — identify and understand
Recognise unë, ti, ai, ajo, ne, ju, ata and ato and match them to grammatical person.
1. Objective
By the end, you will recognise the eight basic Albanian subject pronouns.

Compare: Unë punoj. Ti punon. Ne punojmë. Which word identifies the person doing the action?
3. I understand
Basic Albanian subject pronouns are unë, ti, ai, ajo, ne, ju, ata, ato. They show who performs the action. Ai/ata generally refer to masculine, ajo/ato to feminine. The verb agrees with the person.
Albanian can sometimes omit subject pronouns because the verb ending already shows the person. First learn to recognise the explicit forms.
